What's In Your Purse???

So here is another indication that I am a total BOY mom! Here's a run down of everything I emptied out of my purse today...

*Not one, but TWO motorcycles

*TWO tractor books

*a toy tractor

*a toy car

*CARS fruit snacks

*a box of raisins

*a toy hammer

*a toy screwdriver

*toy screws

*Clay's sunglasses {or "cool dudes" as we call them in this house!}

Keep in mind this is all in addition to my trusty Wet Wipes, Shout Wipes, First Aid kit, Neosporin On-the-Go, sippy cups, goldfish, etc. It's no wonder I can never find anything I need! ;)

Doughnuts with Daddy!

So we've started a little tradition around here we like to call...Doughnuts with Daddy! It happened by pure accident, but now every Saturday {when we are in town}, Daddy ventures out to get yummy doughnuts for his boy. And, boy, does Clay look forward to this treat!!

I give Clay two choices for breakfast in the morning and ALL last week he would reply, "Doughnuts with Dada?" He said it almost like a question because I think deep down he knew that's not a Mama thing...we do it once a week with Daddy...that's what keeps it a special treat. His poor little face looked so disappointed when I put his organic eggs with french toast and fruit on his plate! :(

Here are some pics from our last Doughnuts with Daddy day...
clay is pointing to the box and requesting another one!
because everyone knows two is better than one...right?!
satisfied!

We love you, Daddy! Thanks for starting this yummy tradition!

We're Back...{finally!}

Phew...The Yeamans have been on the go for the past week! It all started with Daddy leaving for Chicago last Tuesday. And, since Mama is kinda a chicken about staying alone {it would have been for 3 nights!!!}, she and Clay headed down to San Antonio to stay with Mick and Coach. We ate yummy food, slept in, and played HARD! Clay got spoiled on "Coach's special"...vanilla bean ice cream and chocolate syrup! Clay says, "Mmmmm, mmmmm, good!" We also got to see Grandpa and chase peacocks and deer around the ranch. For an added treat, we met Aunt Kathy for dinner at Luby's! Thank you Mick & Coach and Grandpa!!! We loved spending time with you!

On Friday, Daddy returned from Chicago (YEA!), we met here at the house, repacked, and headed down to Ingleside for the long weekend. Clay was excited to be at Nana and Paw Paw's! He absolutely loves getting on "Paw Paw's tractor" {okay, so it's really a riding lawn mover...but close enough!} and will ask for it daily! And, of course, there's constant playing with Aunt Katie, Josh, & Toto! Since we only ever talk about Toto, my in-laws also have 2 other dogs (Maggie and Buster) and a cat (Chipper) that Clay knows...they just don't travel to Austin like Toto! A bad thunderstorm came through on Saturday and Clay was patting the dogs on the head and saying, "Okay Maggie and Budder, don't cared of bunder!" {Translation: It's okay Maggie and Buster, don't be scared of thunder!} So cute!!!

We also got some good time in with Grandma and Grandpa Yeamans {Clay's great grandparents}, Grandpa Ronnie, Aunt Becky and Cousin Abbey. Clay knows when we pull up to Grandma's house for lunch. He says, "Grandma's houe (house). Clock, ring ring!" He gets to hear the grandfather clock ring and ring {thank you Grandma for constantly changing the time!} and eat pieces of peppermint and chocolate. We also got to see Grandma and Grandpa Flores {Clay's other great grandparents}. How LUCKY is this boy?!?!

Since we had an extra day for play, Daddy, Mama, Aunt Katie & Josh took Clay to the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus. Here are a few pics from our visit...

what a FUN day!

It was a long time to be gone, but we ALWAYS love being with our familes! We love you all! And, as Clay says, "see you soon!"

Aunt Kate Couldn't Wait!

Like I have mentioned before...nobody likes to go more than 2 weeks without getting some snuggles from Clay {if they can help it} and that includes AUNT KATIE! Here are a few pics of our fun filled weekend...

A monster truck from Aunt Katie, Nana & Paw Paw! Total boy toy!

Gotta love the close ups!

Clay says, "Here we go!"

Our American Idol!

So last night, Clay gave the remaining American Idol contestants a run for their money! He decided to serenade us in the backyard with his version of "Old MacDonald." I must admit, he did GREAT...for only being 2! :) {of course, I am a biased judge!}

It was getting late and dark out, but I so desperately wanted to capture him singing. I knew if I asked him to come inside, I might not get the same result twice! With that said, in the video you can't see Clay's face. {I am BUMMED!} Anyway, I'm going to post the clip so you can hear this sweet voice and try to capture him in the light later! Stay tuned!

mother's day '09

I can't imagine my thoughtful hubby will ever be able top what he did for my first Mother's Day, but Mother's Day '09 definitely comes in a close second! My day started with my sweet boy crawling into bed to give me my Mother's Day card {which he signed all my himself!}, followed by Daddy with coffee made just my way with lots of French Vanilla Coffeemate.

Doug knows that I absolutely L.O.V.E. surprises and I must say, that for most occasions, he will always have something up his sleeve. This one I was totally NOT expecting...

my new camera! I am soooo excited to be able to get Clay in action now! No more chasing after my very fast and very active 2 year old with one hand on the shutter button praying that the flash will be quick enough to capture that split second expression!

The mommarazzi in me was ready to hit the park and take some action shots of my little man. Here are some of the ones I captured...

big boy!

rocking on the horse

belly swinging...a self-taught skill!

that sweet smile

daddy getting him ready to...

hang from the bar all by himself!

all hot and sweaty by 10am...hello summer!

And my absolute favorite shot taken by Daddy...

kisses for Mama!

Now I realize I am no professional, but I just can't get over how clear these pics are and how I was able to capture some great expression! I have A LOT to learn but can't wait to upload some amazing shots to his blog!

My ambition as Clay's mama is to take everything I have learned from my amazing Mom {not sure this is even possible...but I'm trying my hardest!}, include what I have discovered from the other wonderful mothers that are in my life {my mother-in-law, Nanaw, grandmother-in-laws, aunts, cousins, sister-in-law and friends}, trust my mommy intuition, and use it all to raise my son along side my supportive and loving hubby!

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers out there!

Bahamas Pics!

Here are a few of our Bahamas pics...it really was paradise! I am already missing the laid back, no rush, no time limit mentality of the Bahamians. They've got a good thing going on down there! The majority are of the pics are of the hotel & grounds and a few of us...I didn't get as many of us as I hoped! Too many cocktails by the pool, I suppose! ;

on our " plane" from Ft. Lauderdale to Great Exuma, Bahamas. Seriously, this pic does NOT do it justice. It seated 9 people and there was nothing separating the cockpit from the rest of the plane. Since 9-11, I can't remember the last time I saw the inside of a cockpit in-flight!

Mr. & Mrs. at Awards Dinner :) {The wind was FIERCE down there which will explain this pic of my hair!}

Zilliant
did such a wonderful job and I did not capture near as many pics of the wonderful dinners/events by the beach and pool they provided. What an AMAZING time!!

We are now back into the full swing of reality {which I must admit...it's SO GOOD to be home to Clay} and that means the start of potty training in the Yeamans house!!! Pics to come!
