The Only Way to BEAT the HEAT...

1) Strip down into your birthday suit.

2) Break out the Slip and Slide!!!!

They Say It's Your Birthday...

We kicked off Daddy's birthday weekend with a little bit of this...

For those of you who know The Zac Brown Band, this is Clay singing a line or two from their song Chicken Fried. Somehow a few months ago this song became, "Dada's song!" Every time we hear this song on the i-pod or radio, Clay tells me, "Mama, turn it up. Dada's song!" What better way to start Dada's celebration than a tribute from his little {sweaty mess} singer?!

Although no chicken fry was involved, there was a "cold beer on a Friday night" at the Salt Lick {Dada's choice} along with some yummy bbq...just the Yeamans Fam 3. Clay was sooooo sweet at dinner constantly telling Daddy, "Cheers, Dada! Happy Birthday, Dada!" He was fully aware it was his Daddy's special day. Then, on Saturday, Coach and Mick came up and Aunt Ash came over and we celebrated again!

Just look at the admiration on Daddy's face...LOVE.IT!

Yeamans Fam 3!

Helping Dada blow out the candles!

About to dig into some yummy cake {Thank you, Mick!}

You Made Me Certain

On this day, 7 years ago, marrying you made me certain that falling in love with you at 15 years old was the best thing that ever happened to me! You made me certain there is absolutely no one else in this world that is my soul mate; no one else who sees the positive in every situation and brings out the good in me every day! You made me certain that this life we have built together is, without a doubt, the BEST life anyone could ask for!

You made me certain I will love you always!!!

Happy 7 years, Daddy!

When One is NOT Enough

Clay has discovered suckers! The yummy Tootsie Roll kind, that is! The other day he had a very hard time deciding which color he wanted so when I asked him to "make a decision" he told me {in this order} "black, purple & red one, peeze Mama!"

This is one little guy who knows how to get what he wants!

Of course Mama honored his request and here he is...

saying "red, purple, black!"

counting "one, two, tree!"

somehow he made holding and licking all THREE work

how many licks does it take to get to the center???

He would walk around saying, "like a rainbow of colors, Mama!"
How SWEET is that?! I love hearing what he comes up with!

Games Boys Play...

2 year old boys that is!!!

Side note: We have been away from blogging for the week...we {Clay and Mama} were in San Antonio with Grandpa while he had eye surgery and then we brought Grandpa back to Austin for a few days until he could drive on his own. Clay has been having a BLAST having another play buddy besides Mama during the day {and Mama has enjoyed getting things done like cleaning, laundry, and oh my goodness...showering AND shaving her legs!} I've loved hearing, "Grandpa, come here!" Come to the play room!" Technically, Grandpa was supposed to be resting...but Clay had other plans! ;)

Okay, Clay invented this contraption all by himself using his step stool and the kneeling pad I use for giving him a bath to propel himself over the couch! And just when Mama's heart returned to a normal beat, he decided just propelling overboard was not fun enough and took it a step further to STAND on the arm and jump off...okay, now I know I'm officially freaking out the grandparents!!! Not to worry...you will notice in the pics that Grandpa is on one side and Dada the other!
boys!
As Clay says, "upside down!"
here he goes...
balancing
jumping
Clay kept telling Dada, "My can do it. My be careful." Yeah, right!
He was also yelling "Ta da!" like we do at Little Gym

Clay would say, "Mama, my a big climber!"
Some say "boys will be boys" and I'm beginning to think there is some truth behind that statement. If memory serves me correctly, I can picture my "all-boy" brother and "all-boy" cousins in the garage of our Nanaw and Pa's house making their own blow torches using a lighter and WD 40! BOYS!!!

Mama's Little Chatterbox

When Clay wakes from his nap, Mama has a snack {something nutritious...but as you will see in the video...sometimes even Mama caves! } waiting for him and we will either read some books together or watch a Baby Einstein video while he's fully waking up...his choice. On this particular day, Clay chose to watch a video and was really in a talking mood. I just had to capture some of our conversation on video. Enjoy my little gabber!

Happy Birthday Mama!

Well, It's official...I'm now well into my 30's and there's no looking back! :) I must admit, this is just how I pictured my life at the ripe ol' age of 31!

I can not be more thankful for this these two guys right here...

they bring a smile to my face every single day and make life worth living!

Mama and her boy!

Not Quite Here Yet...

but getting closer!!!

I just couldn't resist picking up a packge of these adorable BIG BOY underwear! I mean, really, are those not the cutest things?!? I have a feeling one day Clay's gonna look back on this and not like that I posted his tighty whities on the blog...oh well...just.too.darn.cute!

Let Freedom Ring!

We spent the July 4th holiday visiting everyone in Ingleside and Aransas Pass! There is just something special about a small town celebration on this holiday. Clay got to see the fireworks on Friday and Saturday and loved them! He kept saying, "Oh, look, a red {green, blue, yellow, white} one!" "That one pretty, Mama!" He was a little sleepy on Saturday night, after a day of swimming in Nana and Paw Paw's pool, but was quite the trooper!

Paw Paw, Nana, Daddy & Clay enjoying the pool!

Nana stealing kisses!

Playing with Daddy on the float...running from Nana!

Let the fireworks show begin!

The only way to watch the show...with Momo & baba {and Toto, too! }

Ready to call it a night, Aunt Katie!

We had a wonderful and relaxing 4th of July weekend! Hugs and Kisses to everyone and we will see you soon!

Happy 4th of July!

What better way to celebrate America's Independence Day than by making our very own fireworks!?! Clay's never seen a fireworks display in person, but we did watch some on youtube to get us pumped for this activity...close enough! :)

materials...coffee filters, markers, construction paper, glitter glue...LOTS of glitter glue!

Step 1: color the coffee filter

Step 2: Add glitter glue

Clay says, "Mama, it's ticky {sticky}!"

Step 3: Add more glitter glue...Clay's favorite!

Our finished product! Mama cuts slits in the coffee filter and Clay glues it down on the paper...now that's what I call teamwork! :)

Happy Birthday America! {and...Uncle, too!}
