When Daddy's Away...

A few weeks ago, Daddy had to be gone an entire week for work...ugh! This is the longest we've ever been apart as a family {in fact, Mama & Daddy have never been apart this long}! It was a challenge, but thank goodness Mama and Clay had Grandpa, Mick and Coach to keep them busy while he was gone.

In the beginning of the week, Grandpa came to keep us company and we spent much time in Clay's new sandbox!

making sand castles with Grandpa

Grandpa showed Clay how to make tunnels for his diggers and dump trucks! {not sure where are shorts went??? lovin' the tighty whitey shot!}

We've got our toes in the sand...

After Grandpa left, Mama and Clay headed down to San Antonio to spend a few nights with Coach & Mick. Below are pictures of our trip to the San Antonio zoo!

Clay told us, "Phew, these flamingos stink!" They really did smell bad...not sure what is up with their odor?!

Clay said,
"Awwww, it's a Mama and her baby!"

Of course no trip to the zoo would be complete without a little ice cream or "chocolate sandwich" as Clay calls it...thanks, Coach!

Clay loved the "big turtle" and said, "
It must be his lunch time. He's eating lettuce and carrots...healthy choices!"

Walking the lily pads in the kids' section.

Thank you Grandpa, Coach & Mick for making the week without Daddy a bit more bearable! Daddy arrived late on Friday after Clay had already gone to sleep, but when he woke up Saturday morning to find Daddy in bed, he said in the sweetest of morning voices...."Daddy, you're here" and gave him the biggest and longest squeeze on the neck you've ever seen! :)
